| I have a story to tell! I've been working with KSBJ (Houston Christian Radio Sation). I'm a runner for the concerts they host. This past weekend, Switchfoot and Reliant K were in town. Sold out crowd. It was a great night! I actually didn't get to see Switchfoot's show because I was out picking up their after show food. Anyway, the story comes from earlier in the day. As most of you know, I have hard time telling a story (or anything really) without details, but I'll try to not to drag it on too long. Jen, the tour manager, called me into the production office and said she had a special assignment for me. Switchfoot's merchandise was shipped Fed Ex and was supposed to be delivered Saturday (day of the show), but somehow ended up scheduled for Monday's (two days after the show) delivery. This was a problem, considering they had no merchandise and this was their biggest show yet. Part of the delay was due to the wildfires in San Diego so there are things that went into this whole ordeal that I didn't even realize til later. So, Jen tells me that she's checked the tracking and they know the 12 merch boxes are in Houston, they just don't know where. Could be on a plane still, could be on a delivery truck at the airport, could be at another Fed Ex station in Houston. So I went on a little scavenger hunt through Houston. There was much prayer that went into this hunt. Specific prayers about people with softened hearts who were willing to do a little hunting and research themselves and that the boxes weren't tucked away where we couldn't get to them. The airport was my first stop and the ladies at the counter were basically telling me this was going to be an impossible task. All they could tell me was that the boxes were no longer there and directions to the place they would eventually reach, though according to them, they were not at the next destination yet. So off I went with more specific prayer knowing they were not at the airport. I arrived at the Fed Ex station and the ladies there were amazing. They discussed what they saw on their screen between themselves and I couldn't quite follow it, until one of the ladies said she was going to go back and look for the boxes. After minimal waiting, the phone rang and the lady at the front was giving me directions around the back of the building to the loading docks to pick up the boxes! WOW! I was about to jump out of my skin! I got the boxes, gave the lady a big hug, she expressed her faith in prayer, I agreed, and called Jen to tell her to start doing a little praise dance or something. She was excited and I drove back to the venue giddy about the Lord and His goodness. Well, I didn't realize JUST how important this was to the guys. I got back and got a big hug from Jen and instructions to be at the Meet and Greet after the show because the guys wanted to thank me. So, after the show, they walked in and one of the guys, whom I ran into earlier and he found out I was the one who got the boxes of merch, put his arm around me and was saying, Dude! this is the one!!! High fives and hugs commenced and there was much excitement. They then brought in some flowers and gave them to me, calling me their hero. I can't lie, it was fun to be "hero" for a day! And that's the story about my flowers from Switchfoot. I like a good challenge. I love to serve. So the two mixed together with a great end result made for a pretty great and special Saturday. All glory goes to God. There is no doubt in my mind that He answered our specific prayers and led me to the right people. All I did was drive the van and ask for His guidance. And you know I got a picture! Fun times!
